Navarra: Nature, History and the Passion of San Fermín

Navarra is a land of contrasts; a place where the green valleys of the Pyrenees coexist with arid desert landscapes, where tradition and modernity merge in every corner. With exceptional cuisine and world-famous festivals, this region is a surprising destination.

Pamplona, its capital, is known for the Sanfermines, a vibrant festival that attracts thousands of people every July with its bull runs and unique atmosphere. But the city is much more: the Citadel, the Plaza del Castillo and its walls tell centuries of history, while its old town invites you to taste pintxos in charming taverns.

Beyond the capital, Navarra conceals natural and cultural treasures. The Baztán Valley, with its green hills and villages of traditional farmhouses, seems to have come straight out of a fairy tale. The Irati Forest, one of the largest beech forests in Europe, offers magical landscapes in any season.

In the south, the landscape changes radically. The Bardenas Reales, a desert of rock formations sculpted by the wind, contrasts with the lushness of the north. Olite, with its fairytale castle, recalls the medieval splendour of the Kingdom of Navarra.

Navarrese gastronomy is a feast of authentic flavors. Lamb chilindrón, asparagus from Tudela and piquillo peppers reflect the richness of the land. And for wine lovers, the region has excellent wines from the D.O. Navarra.

Traditions in Navarra are deeply rooted. In addition to San Fermín, the medieval festivals of Estella and the Javieradas, pilgrimages to the castle of San Francisco Javier, are events full of emotion and fervor.

Navarra is history, nature and celebration. A destination that surprises with its diversity and leaves a mark on those who visit it.
